Easy To Follow Steps for Blogging

This is an easy to follow blog guide. Unlike most "Work at Home" e-books, this is a simple straight forward step by step guide to creating blogs and using ad sense.

Blogger
First thing to do, is establish your blog account. Go to Blogger.com and click "Create a Blog"

Next you want to name your blog and give it an URL address. This is the trickiest part. You need to call it something relevant, but it has to be one that isn't already in use. Check available will tell you if you can have it or not.

The next step is to choose a template. Pick anything, for now, and click Continue. We'll be changing it later.

Now that the blog is created, you need to add a post. Click on "Start Blogging."

Give your posting a title related to your blog. For instance, this blog is about blogging. This post is how to create blogs and use adsense. There's another posting on using RSS Feeds in blogs. It's all different information related to the overall theme of the blog.

Now, simply click to publish:

Next you want to click to view in a new window. This is where you'll grab your URL for Adsense.

AdSense

Next, you need to create an account in AdSense. Open a new window in your browser and go to http://www.adsense.com/ and click to create an account:

The first thing you'll be asked is to complete the sign-up form. This is where you'll copy your URL from your other browser window and paste it here. Notice, this is without the "http://"

After you've completed all the information, submit. Google will notify you when your account has been accepted. This can sometimes take a period of days. Once you are approved, go back to your Blogger.com account and sign in.

This will default you to your dashboard. Click on your post:

Click on the Layout Tab:

Click Edit HTML:

Scroll down and click to Revert to Classic View (click OK on the next dialog box):

Save Template Changes:

Click Adsense:

Select layout, type and colors for ads. Try out the different options to find the one that looks best with your blog. You can see each type when you change the boxes on the image before saving changes.

Save the post, go to Settings Tab and republish.

That's it. Your ads will show as "Page can't be found" until Google populates them. No worries, I've waited up to 15 minutes, but they always end up showing up.
